What is the Academy of Design and Manufacturing Technology?
The Academy of Design and Manufacturing Technology prepares students for careers in manufacturing industries. Using a systems approach, students will use self-regulated thinking, analytical problem solving, and critical and creative thinking skills involving the latest technological resources available to solve problems, create reports, take scientific measurements, design and produce products, make complex drawings, analyze date, control machine equipment using computers, and access information and resources on the internet.

 
Why an Academy?
An Academy integrates college-preparatory curriculum with a career theme. In other words, an Academy offers:
  1. "career-focused curriculum" to a subset of students (school within a school)
  2. by involving teachers from different subjects (college-prep academics)
  3. working together as a team and providing students with exposure (work-place experience)
  4. to their chosen career field (partnerships with local businesses)
Students learn marketable career skills integrated with a rigorous academic program that incorporates technology into the classroom.
