Discovery Intermediate School Banner ImageDiscovery Intermediate School is the first Discovery Education STEMformation middle school in the country, and the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) middle school in Osceola County. Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, Osceola County and Polk County parents/guardians with children in grade 5 (incoming 6th grade) have the opportunity to complete an application for their children to attend Discovery instead of their home-zoned school. Choice applications are available at www.osceolaschools.net/choice. The deadline for online Choice applications to be submitted is February 28, 2017.

Interested parents and students are encouraged to attend an informational breakfast at Discovery Intermediate, to be followed by school tours, on Thursday, January 19, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Parents/guardians will have an opportunity to tour the school, including the STEM labs, AVID classroom, and more.

Discovery Intermediate offers students the traditional curriculum with a unique emphasis on STEM, which includes electives such as Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Energy and the Environment, Flight and Space, and Medical Detectives. It is also the only middle school in the district to offer JROTC as an elective.

Parents interested in attending the informational breakfast or who would like more information about the school are asked to contact Ms. Maria Cuevas at Discovery Intermediate at 407-343-7300 or cuevasma@osceola.k12.fl.us.
