District Offers Over $1 Million in Salaries and Benefits To Teamster Employees To Reach Tentative Agreement On 2016/2017 Contract
Strongly believing in the need to reward employees for their hard work despite very limited resources and funding shortfalls, the Osceola County School Board and Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace offered an estimated value of over $1 million in salaries and benefits to employees under the Teamsters Local 385 contract during current negotiations. The Teamsters’ Bargaining team has agreed to the proposal, in which the Board provides these employees with numerous wage and benefit incentives including:
A 1% salary increase for all Teamster employees;
A retention supplement (non-recurring) of $150 for each employee who was employed with the district during the 2015/2016 school year and who returned to work for the 2016/2017 contract date;
Perfect attendance incentives for Transportation Bus Drivers, Bus Attendants, and School Nutrition Services cafeteria workers;
Continued contributions of $6,108 per employee for health care benefits, plus an additional $290 per employee for the District's Center for Employee Health; and
A change in the minimum route times for bus drivers and bus attendants from five to six hours.
The Teamsters Local 385 will begin the ratification process soon.
