On March 7, the Osceola County School Board approved the following administrative appointments:
Hilary DeLuca, Principal at East Lake Elementary
Throughout her career, Hilary DeLuca has held the following positions: Primary Instructor at the Developmental Disabilities Institute in New York (1996-1999); Behavioral Specialist at Denn John Middle (1999-2002); Dean of Students at Denn John Middle (2002-2005); Assistant Principal at Denn John Middle, Narcoossee Elementary, Kissimmee Elementary, and Neptune Middle (2005-present). She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stetson University.
Rhonda McMahon, Principal at Boggy Creek Elementary
Throughout her career, Rhonda McMahon has held the following positions: Teacher in Orleans and St. Bernard Parish Public Schools in Louisiana (1993-1997), Jefferson Parish Public Schools in Louisiana (1997-2001), Hunter’s Green Elementary School in Hillsborough County (2001-2005), and Turner Elementary School in Hillsborough County (2005-2006); Assistant Principal at Turner Elementary (2006-2011); Principal at Turner Elementary (2011-2014); and Principal at Cannella Elementary (2014-present). She received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Loyola University and post-baccalaureate certification in Elementary Education from Tulane University. She received her master’s degree in Special Education – Gifted and Talented from the University of New Orleans, completed an Educational Leadership Certification Program through the University of South Florida, and received an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction Educational Technology from the University of Florida.
Jeff Umbaugh, Continuous Improvement Director
Throughout his career, Jeff Umbaugh has held the following positions: Principal at Wilkinson Elementary (2006-2010), at Shadowlawn Elementary (2010-2012), and at Green Cove Springs Jr. High (2012-2015); and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for Clay County Public Schools (2015-present). He received his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Illinois Olivet Nazarene University and a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida.
Michael Zella, currently Assistant Principal at Gateway High School, will transfer to be Assistant Principal at Celebration High School.
Maria Gomez, currently Assistant Principal at Deerwood Elementary, will transfer to be Assistant Principal at Chestnut Elementary School for Science and Engineering
