Educational System Impact Fees
Educational System Impact Fees are vital to the School District in meeting our ever-increasing demands on educational facilities and the School District's ability to accommodate additional students. Educational System Impact Fee revenues can only be used for new capacity or capacity expansion projects and are levied against new development to fund capacity consumed by new growth. In the past five years, Tohopekaliga High School, NeoCity Academy, Harmony Middle School, Canoe Creek K-8, Poinciana High Business Academy, and a Poinciana High classroom wing addition would not have been possible without the revenue generated by the collection of Educational System Impact Fees.
- Effective June 6, 2018, the following Applications will be accepted: (1) Vacation Villas Application for Exemption of Educational System Impact Fees; and (2) Short-Term Rental Application for a Reduced Rate of Educational System Impact Fees.
- Applicants requesting a Vacation Villas Exemption or a Short-Term Rental Reduced Rate prior to August 1, 2018, shall be required to submit an Alternative Educational System Fee Calculation with their application. The review will include the Applicant reimbursing the School District for the analysis performed by the District's Consultant to determine whether or not the Alternative Educational System Fee is accepted or denied.
- DO NOT RECORD the Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions until notified by School District staff as School Board Counsel approval is required prior to recording.
- A mandatory $2,000.00 review processing fee is required at the time of submission. Checks are to be made payable to The School District of Osceola County, FL. Reference the Vacation Villa or Short-Term Rental Community and Exemption or Reduced Rate on the check.
