Let's Talk Logo BannerThe Osceola County School District has kicked off a new year-round communications solution to help deliver on its promise to provide outstanding customer service and parent and community engagement. Launched during the busy back-to-school season, the online tool, called Let’s Talk! from Virginia-based K12 Insight, represents a new form of “always-on” communication, giving parents, students, teachers and staff, and community residents a safe, reliable way to reach district leaders whenever they need them throughout the school year.

Public Information Officer Dana Schafer says the technology, accessible through a button on the school district’s website or via the downloadable smartphone app, is central to the School Board’s Red Carpet initiative, by which schools and departments provide excellent customer service at all levels of the organization.
“Let’s Talk! is extremely user-friendly for parents, community members, and school and district staff,” says Schafer. “Since we launched earlier this month, people have said ‘thank you’ for the opportunity to share their questions, comments, kudos, and concerns with us. That’s what we’re all about as a school district. We’re about engagement and two-way communication. We want people to be able to talk to us, instead of us simply pushing information out.”
In addition to streamlining communication, Let’s Talk! features a backend dashboard with real-time metrics, including average response time and customer feedback score, allowing administrators to better measure the quality of service provided by the district and its schools.
If early returns are any indication, parents and community members are already seeing a difference. “The response time was quick,” wrote one district parent. “I received the info I was looking for efficiently with a nice offer to help with any other issues I may have. Thank you!” Wrote another, “Everyone was so helpful and so kind and courteous even though it is the crazy time of the first week of school!”
