    New COVID-19 Quarantine Policy

    The Osceola County School District has changed its quarantine policy due to a new emergency order by the Florida Surgeon General.

    Under this order, parents and guardians can choose to allow their child who has been in close contact to a COVID-19 positive individual to remain in school — as long as they do not have symptoms. They can also opt for their child to follow quarantine procedures for a period of up to seven days.

    Either choice is totally at the discretion of the parent or guardian, as long as the child has no symptoms. Some typical symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, and gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  If your child has any of these symptoms, they need to stay home and you are asked to contact the school.

    Please note this new policy does not apply to students who have tested positive for COVID-19. Any student who has tested positive must still follow quarantine procedures as instructed by the Osceola School District and the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County.
