Osceola Students And Families Invited To Participate In College Access Event Highlighting Hispanic Serving Institutions

The Osceola School District is collaborating with Miami-Dade Public Schools, The School District of Palm Beach County, and Broward County Public Schools on the implementation of a college access event highlighting Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI). A Hispanic-serving institution (HSI) is defined in federal law as an accredited, degree-granting, public or private nonprofit institution of higher education with 25% or more total undergraduate Hispanic full-time student enrollment.  This HSI event is a one-week initiative with participation from over 20 HSIs from across the state of Florida. Each day, March 29 - April 1, 2021, representatives from participating institutions will be available for 30-minute information sessions.

"This initiative will connect our Hispanic students and families from across our state with important information about the outstanding post-secondary opportunities at colleges and universities," said Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace.

All sessions will be virtual and free, and will be open to anyone who is interested in learning more about HSIs. Individuals can register for all sessions at https://tinyurl.com/AllinHSI.
