Kindergarten PLC Increases Student Expectations

Here is a powerful story from a teacher at East Lake Elementary:

As part of the kindergarten team at East Lake Elementary, we are helping to build the legacy of "Good to Great" by having higher expectations then ever for our students.

They are participating in a more student-led environment, and they are reading and writing more than ever as we push them to meet these higher expectations.

Our Professional Learning Community (PLC) has become a strong force to be reckoned with as we meet three or more times each week to work on implementing common planning, formatives, rigorous intervention activities, and discuss how to achieve the high goals we are setting for our students this year.

We are also working during our PLC to achieve a positive, fun, and nurturing environment for our kindergartners. We are exciting every time we see kids excelling so quickly through our interventions.
