Teresa “Terry” was born in Hileah, Florida. Her family moved to Osceola County in her junior year of high school and is a proud graduate of Gateway High. Ms. Castillo furthered her education by attending Valencia College where she obtained her A.A. in General Studies and her A.S. degree in Digital Media. She then went on to graduate with honors from Barry University with a Professional Studies degree with a Legal Studies concentration. Terry most recently obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College in 2021.
Ms. Castillo has over ten years of experience in the Learning and Development field. She has worked as a facilitator, sales coach, and instructional designer for Apple Inc., AdventHealth (formerly Florida Hospital), and Charter Communications. She has experience in K-12 education as a tutor with the Valencia-Osceola District GEAR-up partnership and as a Psychology teacher at Freedom High School. Terry is currently the Director of Training at Right to Be (formerly Hollaback!).
In addition to being the Chair of the school board, Terry is very active in the community and believes in giving back. She is the Career Enhancement and Community Service Chair for the Crummer Graduate School of Business Professional MBA Association, a member of the board of directors for the Osceola County Education Foundation as well as the Florida School Board Association.
Ms. Castillo is the proud single mother to her only child, Autumn. As a life-long learner, Terry enjoys listening to podcasts such as Freakonomics Radio, Hidden Brain, Radio Ambulante, and Making Sense.

La Sra. Castillo tiene más de diez años de experiencia en el campo de aprendizaje y desarrollo. Además de ser la presidenta de la Junta Escolar, Terry es muy activa en la comunidad y cree en la retribución. Es la presidenta de Mejora Profesional y Servicio Comunitario de la Asociación Profesional de MBA de la Escuela de Negocios Crummer, miembro de la junta directiva de la Fundación Educativa del Condado Osceola, así como de la Asociación de Consejos Escolares de Florida.
La Sra. Castillo es la orgullosa madre soltera de su única hija, Autumn. Como aprendiz de por vida, Terry disfruta escuchando podcasts como Freakonomics Radio, Hidden Brain, Radio Ambulante y Making Sense.
