Bus Driver Receives Commendation from Parent

Check out this awesome feel-good message we received from a parent in regards to bus driver Christine Ramsay. Christine truly embodies the care, compassion, and empathy that makes a great school bus driver.

"I want to offer commendation for the school bus driver on my son's route in The Oaks.

This morning my son, Christian, slipped and fell on a wet algae encrusted slab of concrete and at the time was experiencing some discomfort which prevented him from picking himself up. At some point he called me from his cell advising me of the situation and I immediately left our home within The Oaks to get to where he was. When I arrived, the driver was in the bus on the radio and I could hear her efforts with dispatch trying to rectify the situation and was earnestly and visibly concerned over my son's current health condition.

I quickly ascertained that my son was primarily frozen by embarrassment but was not in need of paramedic assistance and the driver, under the instructions of the dispatch was asking me to leave the child alone until rescue arrived. I told her that wasn't necessary and subsequently I took my son home to clean him up and then took him to school.

It was heartening to see the driver stayed in the area, was involved with dispatch in trying to get my son assistance, and I truly appreciate that effort. Too many times, especially this time of year, people are quick to criticize and not as quick to offer praise. Please pass on my gratitude to the driver of this routes supervisor and also thank her personally for the assistance."
