District Employee Goes Above and Beyond for New Playground

10/28/2019

Mr. John Peterson is a project field representative who works for the Osceola School District. Recently, he was tasked with the overseeing the installation of a donated playground at Narcoossee Elementary School.

Mr. Peterson went above and beyond to get this installation done in time for the ribbon cutting ceremony. His job is to manage, but instead he worked tirelessly to make sure the installation was done safely on an occupied school site.

Many days, on his own time after hours, he went to the site and graded the sand area around it to make sure the site was safe for the students to continue playing nearby. He discovered a piece of pipe was needed and went out and purchased the pipe and fabricated it to do the job for the contractor, spending $180 of his own money, all because he wanted to make sure it was ready for the kids.

JP, as he is affectionately called, just shrugs this off but in my opinion he is an employee who displays "greatness. #SDOCGoodtoGreat
