Welcome back! I hope that each of you had a wonderful break and enjoyed special time with friends and family. Time away from our everyday routines and tasks can be remarkably good for the soul. I am confident that, as always, you will return to your work and our sacred commitment to student safety and kindness with renewed enthusiasm and vigor.
The start of a new year provides an ideal time to reflect on where we have been and where we are going. As we continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the District, we always must first recognize our outstanding drivers, attendants and the critical support staff that make Transportation Services the extraordinary organization that it is today. We are also looking forward with excitement to the future as the Board has approved the purchase of property on Nova Road on the East side for a new East Transportation facility and we are working hard to secure a piece of property on the west side of the District to construct a new West Transportation facility as well. Things are looking very good but keep your fingers crossed.
Our goal is to continue to build on the tremendous foundation of success that is the legacy of the Osceola Transportation Services department. We are extremely pleased to be able to say that despite unforeseen setbacks including the restrictions and confusing specter of the COVID pandemic, we are well on our way to adding to the legacy and improving services to schools by providing the very best in customer service.
The 2021-22 school year starts with great promise of even greater accomplishments for Transportation. I know that working together as a team there simply is no challenge we cannot conquer.
