Dear Parents, Students and Community Members:
It has been an honor to serve as Discovery's Assistant Principal for the last 7 years and I am excited about my new role as Principal. I am looking forward to building off the successes of the last several years and continuing to make Discovery the best middle school in Osceola County. Working together, the school and the community, I know that Discovery will continue to shine and be a beacon in Osceola County.
I firmly believe that, if given a chance to succeed, all students have the ability to learn and grow. As principal, my first priority is to ensure that each and every student that comes through the door is provided with a safe and rich environment that ensures students are given the best opportunity to be successful in academics and in life. The teachers and staff of Discovery Intermediate School are committed to this mission, and I'm asking that the community of Poinciana also be committed to ensuring that all students at Discovery are able to be successful.
As we navigate the 2022-2023 school year, I look forward to working together and encouraging community members to reach out to me or either of the Assistant Principals with any questions, concerns, or areas of celebration. Please continue to refer to our Website for any updates regarding athletics, the arts, academics, and other information that will be important to establishing a successful school year.
Thank you for being an important member of Team Discovery! Please know that each member of the community, each member of the staff of Discovery, and each student is seen and valued!
Here's to 2022-2023! Go Explorers!
Thanks,Gary Dunn III
Principal
