Principal's Message
-
Welcome!
I hope your summer was fun-filled and relaxing with time to catch up with family and friends. We have been busy here at OCSA preparing for the 2024-2025 school year while also adjusting to being under construction as renovations are well under way. The inconveniences will be relatively short-lived though, and in a matter of no time, the new OCSA will rise like a phoenix from the dust and debris as what most certainly will be a beautiful and unique school for the arts. This year will bring special challenges with less campus space, new walkways, and modified performance schedules. We will be continuously adjusting as the different phases of the renovation take place, and we thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility and understanding.
We have some new staff joining OCSA this year including teachers, administrators, and support personnel… along with a new group of OCSA students. As always, our expectations for our students are high both in the academic classes as well as their development as an artist and citizen. Safety and security remain our most important job each day and to that end we work to ensure a safe and orderly campus. This includes strict enforcement of the district’s uniform dress code and no personal electronic devices allowed during the school day. Students will need to wear their student ID on their person and visible every day. In addition to the safety and security policies, we know that fostering strong, positive relationships with our students is one of the best ways to ensure everyone stays safe and feels secure each day on campus.
At OCSA our hope is to work with each family as a partner to ensure every student is going to reach their full potential. Please feel free to communicate with your child’s teachers any time you have a question or concern about their academic or artistic progress. Our teachers work hard to keep you up to date and informed of your student’s progress and offer support when needed with a variety of opportunities available. OCSA offers daily academic intervention during our lunch time as well after school tutoring Monday-Thursday and occasional boot camps throughout the year. I am excited as we enter this school year and the beginning of our renovations with lots of changes ahead and exciting opportunities. As always, regardless of the facility, it is the people that make OCSA the outstanding school that it is and that is one thing that doesn’t change. The dedicated and talented staff, the amazingly smart and artistic students, and our supportive families all work together to ensure the tradition of excellence continues. Thank you in advance for all you do and for the great year we are going to have together here at OCSA… Where Passion Meets Purpose!
Sincerely,
Dennis Neal
