Principal's Message

  • Principal Audie Confesor and Assistant Principal Jacqueline Centeno

    Welcome to Deerwood Elementary!

It's a great year to be a Challenger! On behalf of our faculty, I would like to thank EVERYONE for an amazing 2018-2019. We were committed to becoming THE most improved school in Osceola County, and based on the most recent Florida Standards Assessment, we increased our total points by 84. This was the highest growth out of all the schools in our District. The school grade earned from the Department of Education increased from a 35% D in 2017-2018 to a 47% C. That is certainly a major reason to celebrate!

As you visit our school, you will notice some major renovations. Our front parking lot was repaved and repainted. The carpet in the hallways is now gone and we have new tile. There is new carpet in the classrooms and office area. Finally, our school was repainted to give our school more of a bright atmosphere.

This year we are committed to working together to meet the needs of ALL students. The staff at DWES have been working throughout the summer attending state-wide conferences, planning together, and preparing to continue what we built last school year.

I am looking forward to working with our students and to have yet another great year. I am very proud of our Deerwood Family for the continued support, dedication and belief that all students CAN and WILL learn.

    Audie Confesor
