Important Information To Know!
A vote in favor of the renewal of the sales tax keeps what our county has in place already. There will be no sales tax increase.
Tourists will pay around 50% of the sales tax.
The one-penny will continue to be split four ways:
- The Osceola School District will receive 25% of the revenue.
- The remaining 75% will be split between City of Kissimmee, City of St. Cloud, and Osceola County based on population, which is about 50% to the County and the remaining 25% split between the two Cities.
- Each government will participate in a joint oversight committee on how the revenues are spent.
Proceeds may only be used to invest in public projects such as schools, public safety, parks, roads, and sidewalks, they may NOT be used to pay for general operating expenses or employee salaries.
