Principal's Message

    Gary Bressler

    Dear Chestnut Family:

It is my privilege to serve as the proud principal of Chestnut Elementary "School for Science and Engineering" as we enter another exciting school year enriched with the essential ingredients that drive student success!  Chestnut Elementary serves approximately 820 students in grades Prek through 5th grade.  Our students are provided an academically rich curriculum that fosters educational excellence through an enhanced focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, also known as STEaM.  Chestnut Elementary is also proud to be an AVID school in grades k-5 where students are provided the tools and instructional practices to ensure their success and readiness for middle, high school, and post-secondary education - a pathway to success!  In addition, our students have the opportunity to exit elementary school as bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural, through the Dual Language program in grades Prek-4th (expanding to 5th grade in 2021-2022 school year). Dual language programs foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages.  To learn more about all of the educational programs and successes at Chestnut Elementary, please contact the school at 407-870-4862.

Looking forward to a great school year with our staff, students, and community!
