Our department serves the students who are English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). These are the students who have been identified as English Learners (ELL).
The student is enrolled in appropriate grade levvel courses of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Computer Literacy.
- Students who meet eligibility criteria as a result of screening process are served in the ESOL program
- An assessment model was developed for evaluating and placing all potential ELL students. The Aura/Oral Test and the Reading and Writing sections of a norm-reference tests used to determine eligibility into the program are approved by the Florida Department of Education.
- ESOL stands for Engliah for Speaker of Other Languages
- ESOL Services are designed specifically to imporve the language proficiency of students who native language in not English. Students have access to the grade-level curriculum and all school services.
