Hello Eagle families!
I am so excited and proud as the Principal of Reedy Creek Elementary to welcome ALL our students and families back to school and for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. We look forward to the year filled with high quality instruction, engaging and rigorous lessons, and fun-filled activities to support student learning. It is my honor to work with the Reedy Creek Family and it is truly my privilege to serve our community and to help make our school the best in Osceola County.
As a principal and an educator, I have high expectations for our faculty, staff, and students. This includes the classroom, on the playground and in our community. I want all to give their best effort, keep a positive attitude and create a sense of personal responsibility for learning. I want our students to be enthusiastic, confident, inquisitive, and determined learners.
To promote student success, at Reedy Creek we believe in fostering a shared-learning community that prioritizes communication, efficiency, safety, and respect. Staff, parent/guardian, and student collaboration is very important to me and we truly believe that we need to have a strong partnership between the school and you to support your students’ education.
This year, we will take the technological advances we have made with the 1-to-1 device initiative and continue to further enhance our instruction at school. Please help us to ensure students are keeping laptops in their protective cases, charged and ready for use and with any device it is also important to monitor and remind students at home about the appropriate uses. We will continue our diligence at school with the district programs of “Content Keeper” and “Gaggle” but we also encourage parents to check your students computer routinely and remind students that the devices and programs are to be used for instructional purposes only and not gaming. Please be sure to help keep these devices in good working condition so that we can optimize their use for instruction.
Positive Behavior Intervention Support (P.B.I.S) program this past school year, we will continue this with a continued focus on providing proactive support while working to prevent or eliminate unwanted behaviors. Eagle Bucks will again be earned for demonstrating positive behavior interactions which they will be able to use in their classrooms, at our school store or for school-wide rewards. Our journey through the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program will continue once again. Through our academics we will focus on Writing, Organization, Collaboration and Reading strategies (WICOR) that will help to foster learning and achievement.
This year our theme will center around the slogan of “It’s all fun and G.A.M.E.S at Reedy Creek. Games will take on the acronym meaning of Goals and Motivation Equals Success. We will have a focus on setting goals and high expectation while ensuring we are creating a fun and engaging learning environment for our students!
We can’t wait to see all our students smiling facing as we welcome you back to school this year!
Remember, if you haven’t heard it yet today…
We care about you,
We love you,
We believe in you!
At Reedy Creek We Care!Go Eagles!
