Mrs. Valcin is a new assistant principal at Gateway and we are so happy to have her with us! She was born in Haiti and raised in New York. She is fluent in Haitian Creole. She’s been living in Florida for the past 16 years with her husband and 2 children. Quality time with her family is a priority.  Mrs. Valcin started her career as a math teacher because of her passion for numbers and being around young adults. After high school, she continued her education at Manhattan College to earn a bachelor’s degree in Math Education. She then received her first master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and her second master’s degree in Educational Leadership for the American College of Education.

She joined Osceola School District in 2008 and taught math at St Cloud High School. After 10 years, she became the Math Resource Teacher for Osceola County. She has served as a Dean at Harmony High School and Math Coach at Liberty High School. She is looking forward to using all her experiences and knowledge to support her new family at Gateway as an administrator!
