A Variety of Athletic Teams and Clubs

The research is clear.  Students who participate in extra curricular activities at school have higher GPA’s than their peers and are generally happier at school.  Neptune Middle School has a variety of students athletic teams, clubs, and organizations for students to enjoy.  We are constantly looking to add even more clubs to match the interests of our growing student body.  Whether it’s track and field or robotics, we have the group for you.  Many of the teams and clubs at NPMS have been recognized for the outstanding work of the student participants involved.  Collecting academic and athletic accolades is huge part of the culture here at Neptune.  Many of our competitive academic/athletic teams go on to win their respective competitions/championships.         

A Thriving Fine Arts Community

The fine arts program at Neptune Middle School is exceptional!  Students at NPMS can choose to take classes in Theater, Visual Arts, Chorus, and Band.  The classes in each progression, challenges the student to take creative risks while developing their skill.  Our dedicated fine arts team have created a program that has become a huge part of our community.  Our Fine Arts department produces two theatrical productions a year.  Our Dance Team and our chorus students have performed for many audiences across the state.  At Neptune Middle School we appreciate the importance the artistic expression and are proud to supporters of the artistic endeavors of our students.   

Challenging Course Work

Neptune Middle School is filled with a community of dedicated teachers who work collaboratively and share the vision of all students achieving at high levels.  We offer academic courses that cater to student’s needs, from remediation to high school credit.  Here at NPMS. the entire staff is committed to educating students to become productive, responsible citizens.

 College and Career Readiness

Our Career and Technical Education program helps students improve their math, science, literacy and problem-solving skills.  These courses are specifically designed to enable students to explore career pathways, determine career interests and aptitudes, and develop basic technical skills in a variety of career areas.  Our CTE courses provide focused instruction in “Business Keyboarding, Computer Applications, and Career planning”.

Neptune Middle School is a proud AVID school.  AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, provides scaffolded support that students need to encourage college and career readiness and success.  Regardless of their life circumstances, AVID students overcome obstacles and achieve success. They graduate and attend college at higher rates, but more importantly, they can think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer the challenges that await them.  Many of our teachers have been trained to engage students using AVID strategies in their classrooms.
