DUAL ENROLLMENT AT NEOCITY
At NeoCity Academy, our students will have opportunities to take Dual Enrollment (DE) courses through the University of Florida. The courses will be delivered virtually, which means NEOC students can participate in courses right on campus using their devices. Students can start DE courses during the 11th grade year.
HOW WE USE DUAL ENROLLMENT AT NEOCITY ACADEMY
Students at NeoCity Academy choose our school in part for our selection of rigorous coursework. When applicable, the use of Dual Enrollment coursework in a student's schedule can help round out a transcript ready to compete at the top levels of college admissions.
Our students are able to take, when applicable, coursework of their choosing through Dual Enrollment at the University of Florida. These courses are all taken virtually.
Through the combination of UF Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement, our students will produce high school transcripts that are competitive for admission to top colleges and universities.
HOW DOES DE IMPACT MY SCHEDULE?
Students who qualify and participate in DE have the ability to take one to two courses. These courses are above and beyond the classes, they would have here on campus as a part of NeoCity curriculum. The only instance when a student can use a DE course to replace a period here on campus is when they have exhausted the level of discipline or received an administrative approval due to the select course fulfilling a need in future academics.
These opportunities are available to select Seniors and on rare occasions, qualified Juniors.
