• IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION

The in-school suspension will be utilized as a program to guarantee a continuation of a student’s educational opportunity without switching the burden of supervising that student to the community.

The following guidelines will be used in cases involving in-school suspension:

    1. Students will be informed as to the reason for the assignment and given the opportunity to respond prior to placement.
    2. Parents will be notified in cases where students have been assigned to the Internal Suspension Room.
    3. Students will be monitored while serving an internal suspension.
    4. Schoolwork will be provided for students housed in the Internal Suspension Room.
    5. An informal hearing will be required for any assignment that exceeds 10 consecutive days.
    6. All school administrators or their designees have the authority to assign Internal Suspension.
