Instructional Materials
The Osceola County School District strives to provide students, schools and faculties with the highest quality of instructional materials to meet its educational goals and support 21st Century teaching and learning. We follow all Florida State Guidelines and Procedures in choosing the best materials possible and it is our goal to affect student achievement in the highest way possible as well as Osceola County School Board Rule 4.21 – Selection and Management of Instructional Materials for selection and review.
This school district maintains instructional materials as well as follows the material adoption cycle through the Florida DOE and the timeline provided.

Submit recommendation of Math for College Statistics for district adoption to school board for approval public input at the August 2nd board meeting on proposed adoption for Math for College Statistics board meeting to adopt instructional material for Math for College Statistics agenda items.
A meeting to recommend Math for College Statistics materials for adoption in the 2022-2023 school year has been set for Tuesday, June 21, 2022. The meeting will be held at The School District of Osceola County office at 817 Bill Beck Blvd, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
Parents and Osceola County residents may review materials at the Media and Instructional Technology Building during business hours starting June 21, 2022. Online will be released on June 21st on our Instructional Materials webpage.

- Decide District Teacher Committee Members.

- Request publishers send materials to district office along with self-check rubric.

- District preliminary review to narrow list of publishers to present to selection committees in November.
- Open Adoption Committee Applications for Teacher Review Committee - close after 2 weeks.

October 2021
- Notification of teachers participating in the adoption committee.
- Notification to publishers moving on status.

November 2021
- November 2, 2021: 30 minutes publisher presentations to the adoption committee and evaluation materials
Time: 7:30am - 4pm
Location: Professional Development Learning Center; 2320 New Beginnings Rd, Bldg 1, Kissimmee, FL 34744
- Adoption committee evaluates and narrows selections for teacher input.
- Notification to publishers moving on status for finalists.
- Request narrowed publishers send sample materials to each school for teacher input.
- Provide digital access, short promo video, and access to physical materials to teachers via department contact and textbook administrator.
- November 2, 2021: 30 minutes publisher presentations to the adoption committee and evaluation materials

November - December 2021
- Materials are distributed to schools for teacher input and teachers give input.

January 2022
- Teachers vote at each school site, facilitated by District Adoption Committee members. Adoption committee member will submit the school’s vote via online survey. Votes from each school are tallied to ensure transparency.
- District administration and committee make recommendation to the Superintendent and notify publishers of the recommendation that has been made.
- News release on public input sessions and publish public notice on district website.
- Submit recommendations to TLL, Cabinet and Board Docs for School Board meeting.

- Public review: public announcement; provide digital access to student materials for parents and/or community members via website; print samples and online access available at for public review.

- Per statute, a 30 day wait period is required for the public to respond to the board action.

- Start purchasing adopted materials to ensure materials will arrive in time for new year.
- Collaborate with IT department regarding digital components of adopted textbooks.
