Mission Statement: We prepare for tomorrow by planning today.

The Planning Services Department was created in July 2014 to focus on establishing a vision for the District’s short- and long-range planning and growth management needs.  As a liaison to the County and municipalities, we are able to project the impact of residential development on student capacity, create long-range projections, recommend future school sites, and coordinate the districtwide rezoning efforts.  An integral part of the Facilities Services Department, since our inception, we have taken proactive steps to create initiatives based upon effective planning principles.
 

Regular meetings are held to identify facility needs and assist with shaping the District's growth plans to meet future capacity needs.  At the center of these meetings are staff from various areas within the School District including Business & Fiscal Services, Curriculum, Facilities, Maintenance Operations, Planning, Safety, Security, and Emergency Management, Transportation, and Principals. 
 

Additionally, the Planning Services Department meets quarterly with the Technical Working Group (TWG) to include planning staff from the City of Kissimmee, City of St. Cloud, and Osceola County to increase the communications and to recognize the benefits that will flow to the citizens and students of their communities by a closer coordination of their comprehensive planning and school facilities program.
 

The Planning Services Team will remain focused on ensuring the District's short- and long-range planning and growth management initiatives meet the needs of our future students, parents, stakeholders and the School District.
