We would like to thank you, the citizens of Osceola County, who are committed to the improvement of existing school facilities.
The 20 year half-cent sales tax referendum  which voters approved in 2016 began in 2017 and will run through 2036.

That funds collected in connection with the
Half-Cent Sales Tax Referendum can only be used for:

  • Comprehensive Renovations of Aging Schools
    Comprehensive reconstruction and improvement of aging schools to ensure that they continue to be well maintained to serve our students and teachers.
  • Security Enhancements
    Provide for the safety of our students and staff
  • Technology Equipment
    Essential upgrades and enhancements of technology infrastructure and equipment to help prepare our students for jobs in the 21st century.
  • Facilities Maintenance Needs
    Upgrades or replacement of any of the following: HVAC, Chillers, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Intercom, Paint, Paving, Flooring, and Roofing.

Through your continued support, the district has been able to complete comprehensive renovation projects at the following schools:

 

  • Michigan Avenue Elementary
    Began: 2/12/2018 Completed: 11/30/2020 Cost: $27 Million
  • Denn John Middle
    Began: 10/8/2018 Complete: 9/30/2020 Cost: $35 Million
  • St. Cloud Middle
    Began: 3/11/2019 Complete: 12/16/2020 Cost: $29 Million
  • Gateway High
    Began: 4/29/2022 Complete: 2/5/2024 In Final Closeout
  • Osceola School for the Arts
    Began: 11/22/2024 Projected Completion: 9/26/2026 Construction in Progress
  • Reedy Creek Elementary
    Began: 2/12/2025 Projected Completion: 11/29/2026 Construction in Progress
