New Hire Resources

Welcome to the School District of Osceola County!

When you begin working and receiving a salary, your employment will be reported to the Florida Retirement System (FRS) to initiate your retirement account. You will notice a mandatory 3% retirement contribution deducted from your first paycheck. Once reported to the FRS, you can choose between the Pension Plan and the Investment Plan. You have 8 months to make your selection, so it's important to research and choose the plan that best suits your needs. If you haven't made a selection by the end of the 8-month period, you will automatically be enrolled in the Investment Plan.
