Instructional Professional Learning Day- September 25, 2026

From innovative teaching practices to meaningful networking opportunities, you'll find valuable experiences that support your professional growth. Join colleagues from across the district as we learn, share, and lead together.

Welcome to Professional Learning

The Professional Learning Department supports the continuous growth and development of Osceola County Schools employees. We coordinate high-quality learning opportunities, maintain professional learning records, and collaborate with schools, departments, and community partners to strengthen professional practice and improve outcomes.

Our responsibilities include:

  • My Professional Growth System (MyPGS): Maintain and support the district's system for managing professional learning activities and in-service credit records.
  • Course Development and Evaluation: Assist schools and departments with the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning courses.
  • Individual Professional Growth Plans: Support educators in creating and implementing meaningful Individual Professional Growth Plans.
  • Professional Learning Councils: Collaborate with school-based Professional Learning Leads through the Professional Learning Council for Instructional Staff and with departmental Professional Support Staff representatives through the PSS Professional Learning Council.
  • New Educator Support: Provide onboarding and ongoing support through mentor programs, New Teacher Orientation, and the New Educator Symposium.
  • Add-On Certification Courses: Offer coursework leading to add-on certifications in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Reading, and Gifted Education.
  • Districtwide Professional Learning: Partner with district departments to coordinate Professional Learning Days for instructional and professional support staff.
  • Federal Program Support: Provide district professional learning opportunities through the Title II, Part A federal program.
  • College and University Partnerships: Develop partnerships with colleges and universities to expand professional learning and career-growth opportunities for employees.

Training Rooms may be reserved for courses the Osceola County School District offers.
