The School District of Osceola County offers a districtwide 1:1 initiative this school year. Students enrolled in SDOC will receive technology equipment that will be checked out to them for educational uses only

We will be checking out a laptop or iPad, a charger, and a case to each student to use at school and home. The devices for grades 2-12 will be an 11- inch lightweight laptop. The devices for grades K-1 will be an iPad.

It is essential that students take care of their assigned devices and protect them from damage. Damage is defined as any material change, whether caused by negligence, accident, or intent, that affects the device’s functionality or appearance. In the event of damage, a fee may be assessed to the student, parent, or legal guardian, depending on the cause and type of damage.

•Bring your device daily: Fully charged and ready for learning.

•Use responsibly: Devices are for educational purposes only.

•Follow district policies: Adhere to the School District’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times.

🔹Device Care Tips

•Keep it clean: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean screens. Avoid liquids.

•Protect it: Always carry your device in a protective case or sleeve.

•Charge it nightly: Ensure it's ready for the next school day.

•Avoid food & drinks: Keep them away from your device to prevent damage.

•Be respectful: Communicate kindly and responsibly online.

•Stay safe: Never share personal information or passwords.

•Report issues: Tell a teacher or tech staff if something seems wrong.

🔹Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Devices

•Report immediately: Report any lost or stolen device to school administration immediately.

     *Please Note: stolen devices require a police report be filed within 72 hours.

•Fees may apply: For repairs or replacements due to negligence or loss.

•Report issues: Tell a teacher or tech staff if something seems wrong.
